About Me

My dad used to be an art teacher at a junior high school in Berkeley, California. I have very fond memories of him giving me drawing lessons. As I got older, I loved to copy celebrity caricatures from MAD magazine movie parodies. And I especially loved the challenge of replicating a photograph. I could spend an entire day drawing in my room and listening to the radio. Unfortunately, I gave up drawing in high school when playing sports became my only obsession. But, twenty-seven years later, I rediscovered drawing as an architecture grad student at the University of Oregon, and I have promised myself that I will never give up drawing again.

I was born in Berkeley, California, and I grew up in the little unincorporated town of Kensington. I currently live in the wonderful city of El Cerrito. It has all the things I love – diversity, funkiness, fabulous 50’s architecture, Asian markets and good food!
