Watercolor
These paintings are, unless otherwise noted, created with three colors: cyan, magenta and yellow. It is a technique that I learned in grad school, and until recently I incorrectly thought that many people were familiar with this technique. I find that it creates a more vibrant palette.

2012

2008 Entire painting was done in the monochrome green and then just the surroundings were given more color. Kind of eerie, no?

2008 13th Avenue just west of the University of Oregon campus. It’s a bit of an homage to the restaurant in the foreground, Café Sienna. I ate there at least once a week when I was in architecture grad school. I love their crepes.

2009 My watercolor instructor had us copy a few different master works. This is a "replica" of an Edward Hopper watercolor.

2009 I love orange peppers!

2009 Original orange pepper plus a “friend” painted after being aged in studio for a few days.
